Fabrizio Viti has debuted his own eponymous footwear collection for spring ’17. With a resume that reads like a who’s who of the shoe industry, we can think of few better equipped to launch his own line.
He began his career working for British maverick cobbler Patrick Cox and has since worked with Miuccia Prada and Tom Ford at Gucci before joining Louis Vuitton.
His 12-year tenure as shoe style director at the French luxury house saw him collaborate with Marc Jacobs and, most recently, Nicolas Ghesquière. Viti is also the man behind the Louis Vuitton spring ’17 superhero boots.
While his new line has its own hero — the satin daisy caged boots in lustrous lilac are undoubtedly a career highlight — FN also talked to him about three other favorite designs from his career.

“At Prada, the first show on which I collaborated was the Forties show from fall/winter 2001. I loved the heels, which were retro but modern at the same time. I was very inspired by Mrs. Prada, whom I adore as she has her own vision: the way she dresses up and talks and the way she thinks.”

He’s also a grateful person, which is rare to find.”
