When the worlds of British royalty and U.S. celebrity come together, it certainly makes for a powerful combination. But Meghan Markle seems to be taking it all in stride.
Here she is in Toronto, mat in hand, for some yoga and sporting a pair of pristine white Reebok Classic kicks. These bad boys have been quietly making their way back up the fashion charts of late, and we’re predicting a battle for style hegemony with current leaders in the sneaker market.
Earlier this year, the label scored Gigi Hadid as the face of its #PerfectNever campaign, part of Reebok’s body-positive “Be More Human” narrative that sets out to challenge the notion of female perfection. In the last week alone, the shoes have been spotted on the feet of Hadid, Zoe Kravitz and Olivia Culpo.
It’s not difficult to see what Prince Harry sees in Markle, aka Rachel Zane, the stylish star of the USA Network legal drama “Suits.” Or why the rugged young royal made a 1,700-mile detour to visit the American actress in Toronto where she is filming. (The prince made a Canadian pit stop Sunday en route to London from an official tour of the Caribbean.) Sneakers aside, the actress has off duty chic totally sewn up with her khaki utility jacket, aviator sunglasses, cigarette style jeans and $1500 Mulberry Bayswater tote bag. Spot the nod to the classic British establishment.
