Sarah Jessica Parker Is Spreading Her Fashion Wings

Sarah Jessica Parker is both putting down roots and taking to the skies. The actress is opening her first brick-and-mortar store. It will be located outside Washington, D.C., where it will form part of the MGM National Harbor resort, which is currently under construction.

Both the boutique and hotel are expected to open on Dec. 8, reports WWD. The new store promises to be a Disney World equivalent for Sarah Jessica Parker’s fans. It will sell Parker’s SJP Collection shoe label and her little black dress collection, plus handbags and jewelry, too, with prices ranging from $30 to $700.

“Opening a stand-alone store has long been a dream we have been working towards, and we feel truly privileged to be doing so with the expertise, guidance and support of our brilliant partners at MGM Resorts,” Parker stated.

“It’s been very exciting to have been involved in all steps of the process, from on-site construction visits to the actual layout and design of our boutique,” she continued. “I’m honored to be included in this massive undertaking, and I’m very much looking forward to celebrating in December. Because perhaps then I will believe it’s real.”

Parker has also teamed up with designer Cynthia Rowley to create flight attendants’ uniforms for the private airline Blade. While Rowley designed a bell-sleeved minidress in blue suede, complete with silk tie, it was Parker who provided the final touch – a very razzy pair of shoes.

“Working with Blade is such a huge opportunity for our small team and allows us to expand in new ways while working with Cynthia, who I’ve known and admired for years,” said Parker. “I know first-hand that the Blade women are lovely from head to toe, and therefore we are so proud our shoes will play a small part in this big and growing operation.”

This sparkly little number is actually a special edition of the $385 Tartt Mary Jane block-heel pump in “scintillate” from Parker’s own SJP shoe line but with a chic point of difference, the subtle ribbon detailing on the back, which is part of the airline’s branding and also matches the tie.
