Vans Unveils New Weatherproof Collaboration

Vans is known for its all-American skater shoes and sneakers, but the label does love a collaboration. Its latest effort is a celebration of both British style and British weather.

Vans has partnered with Undercover London. The contemporary umbrella line was founded by Jamie Milestone in 2008 with the aim of restoring the umbrella to its rightful place as a quintessential fashion accessory while celebrating Britishness at the same time.

The Vault by Vans x Undercover London collaboration features a co-ed range of shoes and umbrellas, both of which employing water-resistant technology. There are three key graphic prints adorning brollies and Sk8-Hi LX Trek Vans Cup sneakers alike: British Camo, Optical Checkerboard and Orchid Haze.

The high-tops feature premium water-resistant suede, warm linings and a heat retention layer between the sockliner and outsole to help keep feet warm and dry. A Vans constructed lug outsole takes advantage of more than 20 years of snowboot history to embrace the cold weather. As for the umbrellas, each one features a print that matches the quarter panels of the Sk8 Hi MTE Cup LX

The collection launches Saturday, online and in selected Vans stores and will also be available at the Undercover London flagship store in the British capital. With designers on the runway matching footwear to ready-to-wear, it’s high time the umbrella got in on the act.
