London Times: Manolo Blahnik On New Film, Nicholas Kirkwood On His Big Move & More

While Milan Fashion Week has already wrapped and Paris Fashion Week has just begun, there is also plenty of action in London happening now.

We caught up with shoe maestro Manolo Blahnik over lunch Tuesday, and the designer is ready for his big screen debut. The feature-length flick is tentatively set to launch at the Venice Film Festival later this year. While we’re hoping that the ever-charming (and always hilarious) Blahnik captures most of the screen time himself, the designer reports that three additional actors will portray him during different parts of his life. Will Mr. Blahnik be as Oscar contender for 2017? Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Nicholas Kirkwood just finished a big project of his own – the relocation of his headquarters to Soho from Mayfair. While the designer, who celebrated 10 years in the business in 2015, previously housed his offices on Mount Street — he was one of the first fashion players to open a store there — Kirkwood was ready to spread out. Among the perks for staff at his new digs: in-house yoga and acupuncture! New chapter, indeed.
