Beyoncé gave BET Awards viewers a glimpse into her sell-out Formation World Tour when she opened the show on Sunday night with a performance of her song “Freedom.”
The star and recent recipient of the CFDA’s Fashion Icon award kicked off the awards wearing one of her signature embellished bodysuits and danced barefoot with her group of fierce backup dancers, which she does on her tour.
The dancers arrived ahead of the show in “formation” wearing an array of unique outfits and brightly hued pumps. Midway through her performance, Kendrick Lamar joined Beyoncé onstage and jumped in the water with her shoes on.
Lately when she’s not performing, Beyoncé has been spotted in heels by designers including Gianvito Rossi and Alaïa.
