The footwear industry came together to support the fight against breast cancer on Tuesday night in New York City, along with some special guests.
Zendaya, Jessica Simpson and Martha Hunt were on hand to celebrate the annual QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale” Gala at the Waldorf Astoria.
The night honored Aquazzura’s Edgardo Osorio as Designer of the Year, celebrity chef Sandra Lee received the Jodi Fisher Humanitarian Award and Shopbop was named Retailer of the Year.
Said Osorio onstage, “The road here has not been an easy one. For a young Colombian boy to arrive to Florence and build an international luxury company from nothing in five years is like a dream. Even if it’s an Italian brand, I’ve built my business here in the United States. That’s where it started.”
The evening ended with a special tribute from Marc Fisher to his father, “FFANY Shoes on Sale” co-founder Jerome Fisher.
“My sister and dad founded this event almost 25 years ago. They started in a small tent in Central Park,” Fisher told the crowd. “My dad had an incredible passion for the shoe business. He loved shoes. Boy, would he love a fall day like today. He would just pray for boot weather like this.”
Zendaya, who was the official spokesperson for QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale,” contributed footwear from her line, Daya, to the event, which has raised more than $50 million for first-step breast cancer research over the past 23 years.
She told Footwear News, ““I take the job of being a role model very seriously. I just want to give young people a positive person to look up to. I want them to be honest, passionate and thoughtful humans.”

Other guests included Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo, Shopbop CEO Darcy Penick, QVC’s Jill Martin, FFANY President Ron Fromm, Louis Camuto and Sam and Libby Edelman.
