Amal Clooney Steps Out in Sarah Flint Pumps At Cannes

Designer Sarah Flint may not be attending the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival in France, but her shoes certainly have made two notable cameos. The New York-based designer saw her work on the likes of Blake Lively (an early and frequent Flint supporter) and Amal Clooney.

The latter was spotted leaving the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Flint’s Emma block heel pump, chosen in taupe suede and paired with a colorful Valentino minidress, an unexpected choice to be sure. She accessorized the look with husband George Clooney on her arm. (Now if only she could fix his apparent shoe problem.)

The low and demure shoe, a signature of the label, is made in Italy and rings in at $595. To update the style for spring ’16, Flint added faux bois chevron detailing to the short, squared-off heel.

Watch on FN

The activist lawyer and fashion plate was spotted earlier in the day in a more vertiginous pair of pumps in rich oxblood, but she later changed into this more walkable option from Flint. With Amal Clooney as one of fashion’s top “gets” right now, it was quite the coup for the young designer. More big moments await Flint, who will take the stage at the Footwear News Summit in New York on June 6 as a speaker on the Emerging Talent panel.
