Adidas is outfitting three college basketball teams from head to toe for Black History Month. The University of Louisville, University of Nebraska and Mississippi State University teams are each wearing special uniforms to commemorate Black History Month.
Louisville’s uniforms are inspired by the team’s uniforms from the 1980s and also honor one of the school’s first three African-American basketball players, Wade Houston. Similarly, Nebraska’s uniforms pay homage to that school’s first African-American player, Wilbur Wood.
All three schools will wear Adidas’ Black History Month shoe collection that celebrates Olympic runner Jesse Owens. The brand created special colorways of the D Lillard 2, D Rose 6 and Crazylight Boost 2.5 styles.
NBA players Damian Lillard, James Harden and Derrick Rose will also be wearing the shoes throughout this month. The shoes feature details such as Owens’ “733” bib number on the tongue and “1936”—the year he won at the Olympics, on the sockliner.

The teams will wear the uniforms throughout February. Louisville, which is ranked 19th in the AP’s poll, took down No.2-ranked University of North Carolina on Monday.
