Adidas has a new summer home for soccer fans.
The label launched The Base LA on Saturday in downtown Los Angeles at The Container Yard, 800 E. 4th St. It’s open to the public through Aug. 25; operating Monday through Thursday and Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m.
Programs include opportunities to participate in Urban Futsal games (registration required), international soccer game screenings on an 80-inch flat-screen TV, a lounge and special appearances by DJs and other guests.
The hub will feature art from the sportswear brand’s recent Mercury Center installation, and the venue will showcase customized kicks by The Shoe Surgeon that were designed for boldface-name soccer stars.

Retailer Niky’s Sports will have a pop-up featuring Adidas apparel and sneakers.
A private kickoff event held on Friday included a screening of the Copa America game.
