Adidas today unveiled its newest running shoe, the AlphaBounce. The shoe aims to allow its wearer to have a distraction-free workout, meaning less stitching and minimal materials. Recent running shoe releases from Adidas have used the brand’s Boost midsole technology.
The Bounce midsole technology is made using EVA foam that is engineered to provide a responsive and elastic running experience.

The upper, which the brand calls Forged Mesh, has only a single layer of material for free foot movement and a ribbed pattern that provides both support and expansion when needed.

“Using motion capture technology, we identified parts of the foot that expand during a runner’s stride,” said George Robusti, senior design director for Adidas global running. “With only one piece of material, Forged Mesh offers support in these areas, which results in a more dynamic experience during activity.”
The shoe is available for $100 for both men and women on Adidas.com. Additional colorways will be introduced on Monday.
