Adidas Is Bringing Back the Original NMD

Loyal fans of the Adidas NMD, listen up.

Reports are circulating that Adidas is going to rerelease the NMD in the original black, blue and red colorway. An undisclosed retailer told Sneakernews that the shoes will drop Dec. 15. Adidas has released many iterations of the NMD, including the City Sock — a laceless midcut version — and has made use of several different patterns and constructions. Less than a year after its debut, the NMD has also gotten an upgrade with the NMD XR1.

The original NMD was released with a black Primeknit upper with tonal three stripes, a white Boost midsole and red and blue EVA inserts.

The NMD has become a sell-out silhouette for Adidas, much like its popular Ultra Boost runner. There’s been no official confirmation from Adidas on this release.

Adidas collaborated with Pharrell on a special version of the NMD called the Hu NMD, which dropped in the U.S. today and quickly sold out. Pairs on the secondary market are already ringing in at more than $1,000.
