This Sneaker Style Set a Gold Standard in Adidas Skateboarding’s Franchise Footwear

Adidas Skateboarding is celebrating its decade-long relationship with pioneering athlete Dennis Busenitz with a new pair of sneakers inspired by their past iconic collaborations.

The Busenitz Pro 10-year edition sneaker, dropping Monday worldwide, is the final set of footwear in a special three-pack that launched in October.

The shoes retail for $85 and feature a cream-colored leather upper with white stitching around the toe and heel. Adidas’ iconic three stripes are incorporated on the side in a beige color, and gold embroidery highlights the milestone partnership with “06” on the left shoe and “16” on the right.

In 2006, Busenitz’s signature sneaker design helped shape the Adidas Skateboarding pro-rider program, and influenced other performance styles in the category.

“The Adidas Skateboarding’s 10-year relationship with Dennis Busenitz has been the perfect partnership,” said Jascha Muller, global sports marketing manager for Adidas Action Sports.

As part of the 10th anniversary frenzy, the sportswear brand released two other shoes that mirror previous Busenitz silhouettes; they’re available on Adidas.com. Additionally, Adidas produced a special “Friends and Family” shoe featuring premium materials by Horween Leather Company, wax laces and branded hand tags — each pair numbered from 1 to 3oo. The limited run Busenitz Pro “Friends and Family” sneaker is not for sale.

In another venture for Adidas, the label produced a documentary about Busenitz’s rise in skateboarding in “Up to Speed,” which debuted Nov. 11.
