With a constant flood of sneaker releases and a lucrative burgeoning aftermarket, it can be easy to lose sight of the things that are truly important in the world. One overseas retailer is doing its part to remind sneaker enthusiasts of those who are less fortunate.
After its co-founder and CEO, Erik Fagerlind, criticized Adidas following September’s Yeezy Boost 350 V2 release, Switzerland’s Sneakersnstuff is trying a new approach to release the Yeezy Boost 750 “Light Brown.”
“While we tried to figure out how to deal with this the best way, and while you stood in line outside of Sneakersnstuff in London, Paris or Stockholm, to sign up to the raffle, and while you took the L this weekend – there were people out there that was without a home. Without food for the day. There were kids out there without access to fresh water,” reads a statement from Sneakersnstuff. “And while we all, and you all will live to take another L in another Yeezy raffle — they are still there. Still homeless. Still hungry. Still dehydrated.”

With this in mind, Sneakernstuff decided to save 30 pairs of the coveted Yeezy Boost 750 “Light Brown” sneakers with plans to sell them to the highest bidders. Then, the store will donate the proceeds to the international Red Cross to help with relief in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew.
“So here is your chance: If you are one of those that took the L this weekend and now have to try eBay or other resellers to get your pair, here is your chance to get your pair and make the world a better place at the same time,” Sneakersnstuff said.
