The return of the “Banned” Air Jordan 1 was one of the most talked-about Jordan releases of 2016, and despite a handful of restocks, the iconic kicks continue to sell out every time they appear. However, if you’re still hoping to add this pair to your collection, there’s at least one more opportunity to pick them up for retail price — and you won’t have to camp out or battle online bots for this one.

The 2016 release of the Air Jordan 1 “Banned” was the first time the sneaker had been seen in its original form with “Nike Air” branding since 2013, and prior to that, the last release was in 2001.
The sneakers earned their nicknamed due to their famous history: The NBA banned the shoes in 1985 due to uniform restrictions (not unlike what’s happening this season in the NFL). Despite the ban, Michael Jordan wore the shoes anyway, and Nike paid the $5,000-per-game fine, effectively kicking off one of the most influential marketing campaigns in sneaker history.
