A Pair of ‘Banned’ Air Jordan 1s Are Hidden Somewhere in NYC

Good news: If you missed out on September’s Air Jordan 1 “Banned” release, there’s still a chance to get your hands on a pair of the historic sneakers without having to succumb to costly resell prices.

Hypeist, a startup company that creates scavenger hunts for coveted goods such as sneakers and collectibles, has announced that a two-pack of “Banned” Air Jordan 1s will be stashed in the city for a scavenger hunt set to take place on Saturday.

To participate, you’ll need to visit dropHQ.hypeist.com on your phone to join Hypeist and reserve your spot in the “Banned” Air Jordan 1 scavenger hunt.

The scavenger hunt’s instructions are outlined in the diagram above. Once you’ve signed up, alerts will begin appearing on Saturday with hidden tokens and clues. If you’re able to decode them before the competition, you’ll find two fresh pairs of “Banned” Air Jordan 1s for the taking.

In December 2015, Hypeist hosted a similar scavenger hunt for the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 “Moonrock.” You can watch a recap of that event in the clip below.
