Jordan Brand Is Releasing a Long-Anticipated Colorway of Air Jordan 9s Plus a ‘Singles’ Day’ Collection

Just days removed from the arrival of the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 16 collaboration, Jordan Brand‘s releases continue to heat up as we approach the holiday season and beyond.

One of the first releases you should know about is the Air Jordan “What Is Love,” aka the “Singles’ Day” collection, which releases exclusively in Asia on Friday. Comprised of both men’s and women’s colorways, this group is inspired by a holiday that readers might not be familiar with. Much like its name suggests, the two-sneaker group is a nod to China’s Singles’ Day, which takes place every year on Nov. 11, with 11 representing “only one.”

While we celebrate Valentine’s Day in the States, China has been celebrating Singles’ Day since 1993, and this year Jordan Brand has readied the perfect sneakers for people who aren’t in relationships. The pack features a Tiffany-esque women’s colorway (pictured above), along with a red-based men’s make up that features a unique “Panda camouflage” material that is only revealed after wearing down its black leather layer.

In addition to these “Singles’ Day” styles, Jordan Brand is also preparing to launch a long-anticipated player edition colorway of the Air Jordan 9. The colorway in question was originally created for NBA legend Kobe Bryant, although it’s been given a small modification for the 2016 public release. At the heel, the embroidery that once featured Bryant’s uniform number 8 now features the traditional 23 branding.

If for some reason you’re not already excited for what’s to come, Jordan Brand is also getting ramped up for 2017. Today, Instagram user @zsneakerheadz shared early images of a “Raging Bull” Air Jordan 12 Low in red suede that is expected to release sometime next year.
