Alessandra Ambrosio Wears Coca-Cola Sneakers And More Celebrities Kick Off the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Opening Ceremony

Alessandra Ambrosio helped kick off the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The Brazilian supermodel called it an “epic moment” when she carried the Olympic torch for her home country in the coastal paradise Rio de Janeiro on Friday.

For the occasion, the stunner was outfitted in the official uniform for all torchbearers — a white “Rio 2016” top and shorts set and a pair of red sneakers by The Coca-Cola Company.

“Today it was an honor to carry the Olympic torch!” Ambrosio captioned a snap on Instagram. “I’m so proud and grateful to be Brazilian and to represent my country !!!! What an epic moment for me.”

The exclusive tennis shoe designed by the soft drink company’s Brazil division features a striking red colorway with an asymmetrical gold panel that covers the portion of the shoe from the tongue to the counter.

The soda giant’s branding is featured on the tongue and toe bed.

The Coca-Cola Company’s senior director of stakeholders relations Victor Bicca Neto called it a “super cool initiative” on his LinkedIn page.

“Coca-Cola Brazil has created an exclusive tennis shoes for the torch bearers during the Olympic Torch Relay of Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games,” he commented.

Fellow Brazilian bombshell Adrianna Lima was also humbled.

“I am grateful to experience this incredible honor and dream to carry the Olympic torch, so humbled to be carrying in my home country Brazil,” Lima wrote on Instagram.

Pop star Cody Simpson told his Instagram fans that he felt “stoked” to carry the torch for his native Australia.

“So stoked to be here in Rio running with the Olympic flame today representing Australia 🇦🇺,” he shared. “A pretty serious honor to be here, lookin forward to the opening ceremony this evening. Cheers @cocacola #thatsgold.”
