Arc’teryx Outdoor Lifestyle Brand To Open New York Store In July

Canadian outdoor lifestyle brand Arc’teryx Equipment is about to set up shop in New York’s Soho neighborhood. On July 23, the company will unveil a 2,300-sq.-ft. retail store at 169 Spring St., the seventh for the brand in the U.S.

The brand, known for targeting young outdoors consumers who transition from urban centers to mountain hubs, is also planning to open a limited amount of doors in key international cities to complement its wholesale business.

“The Arc’teryx consumer travels a great deal between mountain and city environments,” said Adam Ketcheson, VP of marketing. “We are focused on making sure we offer an elevated retail experience that matches our product experience, regardless of our consumers’ location.”

In the past five years, Arc’teryx has invested in making sure its digital consumer experience supports its customers’ needs. Along with this initiative, it is continuing to invest in retail as an opportunity to create a personal one-on-one relationship with its customer base.

As part of the grand opening, the first 50 customers through the store at 10 a.m. will receive a gift pack. There will also be hands-on craftsmanship activation from staffers, and shoppers will be able to participate in specially designed activities to celebrate the opening.

The company is planning to open two more stores by the end of the year in North America in Chicago in July and Toronto in October.
