NBA Playoff Kicks: What To Expect During The Cavaliers-Raptors Matchup

LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers have had plenty of time to rest after their sweep of the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the NBA playoffs. But after a seven-game series, the Toronto Raptors are next in line to face Cleveland and attempt to derail their quest for a title.

For sneakerheads and fans of basketball shoes, there’s sure to be plenty of heat on the court throughout the Eastern Conference Finals.

Both Cleveland and Toronto have players with shoe deals, but only the Cavaliers have athletes with signature shoes: James and Irving with the Nike LeBron 13 and Nike Kyrie 2, respectively. But Toronto’s stars often hit the hardwood in the latest and greatest top athletic brands have to offer.

Throughout the playoffs, James has played in the latest iteration of his signature shoe, the Nike LeBron 13 Elite, in a number of colorways. But James isn’t the only Cleveland player who has hit the court in his signature shoe: Guard J.R. Smith has been spotted in the LeBron 13 Low. As for Irving, he’s been seen in different color makeups of his Nike Kyrie 2.

Toronto’s biggest stars, guards Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, wear Adidas and Nike on the court, respectively. Lowry frequently plays in the Adidas Crazylight Boost 2.5, while DeRozan opts for the signature shoes of the recently retired Kobe Bryant, specifically the Nike Kobe 11. And DeMarre Carroll of the Raptors also opts for the three stripes and has hit the court in a number of the brand’s shoes, including the Adidas Light ‘Em Up 2.0.
