Converse is getting into sole music.
The label announced Wednesday an updated version of its Converse Chuck Taylor All Wah prototype that was presented three years earlier.

The All Star’s sole uses micro-sensor technology that transforms the foot movement into wah modulation, which allows its wearer to enjoy more freedom while playing guitar.
In combination with a traditional wah pedal (commonly called a wah-wah), the device in the sneaker communicates wirelessly via Bluetooth to amplify a distinctive sound on an electric guitar. The sneaker features a plug-in outlet in the sole that can be used with an amp or connected to a Mac or iPhone.
A wah-wah pedal is a tool that alters the tone of the signal transmitted by an electric guitar. Perhaps one of the most memorable uses of the technique is Jimi Hendrix’s 1969 rock-fueled “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
