Converse Readies Cons Metric CLS Skate Shoe Release

Converse may be best known for the Chuck Taylor All-Star — and the shoe’s recent upgrade, the Chuck II — but the brand also makes skate favorites. Its latest skateboarding sneaker aims to give the skater an unparalleled board feel.

The Converse Cons Metric CLS hits stores tomorrow and will retail for $90. The shoe will be sold at the brand’s retail stores, its website and independent skate shops.

According to the brand, the shoe uses its CLS platform — which stands for comfort, lightweight and stability — which gives the shoes a vulcanized board feel and provides the stability and comfort of a cup-sol. An integrated outsole and midsole construction improve the stability of the shoe, as well as making it lighter and less bulky. A dual-density injected-phylon midsole  improves the shoe’s overall comfort and protection against the impact skaters feel while riding. The Metric also features performance characteristics, including a ventilated mesh tongue for breathability and a Cons traction rubber outsole with a directional tread pattern for grip.

The shoe will debut in three colorways: Thunder, Black and White. The Thunder is all-black; the Black colorway features white and red hints on the upper, with a white sole; and the White colorway has beige, red and black on the upper.
