If you weren’t fortunate enough to get the first Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 colorway when it dropped Sept. 24, you may not like what Crep Protect just did with a pair of the limited-quantity shoe.
The company that produces sneaker protecting and cleaning products posted a video to its Instagram account today of the shoe being sent into space. A longer video of the process and execution of the launch was uploaded to the brand’s YouTube account, named “First Yeezy in Space!”
But before sending the freshly protected shoes up, professional BMX athlete Ryan Taylor and Crep Protect founder Imran Ahmed did a water test to showcase the product’s abilities to whisk away water.
A pair of the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 in the stegry, beluga and solred colorway — along with a can of Crep Protect — was strapped to a GoPro camera and a balloon and released. The camera captured footage of the view from above the clouds until the balloon burst, taking two hours for the shoes to come back down to Earth — which later had to be retrieved from a tree.

When the shoes were back in the hands of its senders, they were dry and in the same condition as they were when they were launched.
