Fila Releases Cage Delirium Tennis Sneaker

Fila today launched a new performance sneaker ready for competition play. The Cage Delirium, a men’s and women’s tennis style, was outfitted with a number of high-tech elements to elevate an athlete’s performance on the court.

“The Cage Delirium tennis shoe was crafted with both performance and style in mind, fusing new technology with modern design features and sharp colorways,” said Mark Eggert, VP of footwear design and advanced concepts at Fila North America. “We constantly strive to provide our athletes with the tools needed to feel confident and comfortable on the court, so their full focus can remain on the game.”

The Cage Delirium encourages rapid movement with multi-directional pivot points on a durable outsole, with a TPU midfoot support. It also keeps comfort in mind with a cushioning EVA midsole and a lightweight mesh upper featuring synthetic overlays.

The shoe was developed with help from Fila’s roster of pro athletes, which includes John Isner, Jelena Jankovic, Andreas Seppi and Timea Babos.

Whether any of those top players will be wearing the sneakers at this month’s BNP Paribas Open is not yet clear, but Fila did say several athletes will be transitioning into the sneakers during the season.

And one other thing is certain: The new sneakers will be seen on the feet of the ball kids and line persons at the BNP Paribas Open, as Fila is the official sponsor for the tournament in Indian Wells, Calif.

The Cage Delirium sneaker is on sale now for $100 at Fila.com and major tennis specialty retailers. It comes in six colorways — three for men and three for women.
