Fila to Release an Updated 1993 Running Classic

Fila has a rich heritage in a number of sports, most notably tennis. But the athletic brand also has a history with running.

On Sept. 16, Fila will rerelease a style that not only celebrates its running lineage, but also give it a modern makeover to appease the technology-obsessed consumer. Fans of the brand and running styles can buy the Fila Overpass 2.0 Fusion for $80.

The shoe debuted in 1993, and it has been rereleased twice since. In 2014, the shoe once again saw retail shelves, and in April, the Overpass 2.0 was introduced. But Fila delivers the Overpass 2.0 Fusion with a new update: a new-sew upper.

The Overpass 2.0 Fusion — which will debut in the “Let It Reign” colorway that employs Fila’s white, navy and red palette — not only features a new-sew upper, but also incorporates open air mesh and molded overlays that have a pearl-like finish. The shoe also boasts a molded TPU structure on its collar, a deconstructed counter, a die-cut EVA midsole, and a solid ice rubber outsole.
