Kevin Durant Says Stephen Curry’s Under Armour ‘Chef’ Shoes Are ‘Bad’

Former Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant didn’t mince words during his appearance on HBO’s “Any Given Wednesday” with host Bill Simmons.

The NBA forward, who traded in his OKC jersey over the summer for a spot alongside Stephen Curry and his Golden State Warriors, appeared on the show on Sept. 22 with hip-hop veteran Nas.

The pair got candid on buzzy topics including Donald Trump, their favorite athlete-turned-rapper and Curry’s signature sneaker line with Under Armour.

During the Speed Round segment of the show, Simmons — assuming Durant wouldn’t be willing to tackle his new teammate’s highly criticized Curry Two Low “Chef” release in June — says, “I’m not going to ask Kevin this question, but [Nas], what did you think of the ‘Chef’ Currys?”

Before the hip-hop artist could respond, Durant interjects, “They were bad.”

Frank words from Durant, who will join Curry during the upcoming NBA season, which for the Warriors begins at home Oct. 25 against the San Antonio Spurs.

Durant stirred up a wave of controversy in July when he announced he would leave his longtime NBA team to join the Warriors, the defending Western Conference champions.

Basketball analysts had suggested that a confluence of factors led the NBA forward to make the decision, including challenges stemming from the NBA lockout of 2011 and the desire — on the part of Durant — to be a part of an NBA superteam.

Durant is sponsored by Nike and has his own signature sneaker line.
