Kobe Bryant Gives Alexander Ovechkin Signed Sneakers

Three sports greats were united Tuesday night at the Staples Center during a Los Angeles Lakers game.

Tennis star Novak Djokovic and Washington Capitals hockey star Alexander Ovechkin sat courtside to take in the Lakers game against the Orlando Magic. Although soon-to-be-retired Kobe Bryant didn’t play, Ovechkin got to experience something even more special: receiving a signed jersey and pair of sneakers from Bryant.

After the game, Bryant posed with Ovechkin and Djokovic. Ovechkin shared a photo on his Instagram of his gifts from Bryant, writing, “No comment!!! It’s unbelievable to have this!!!”

Bryant wrote on one of the shoes, “To one of the greatest.”

Bryant has sat out the past few games, but he’s still been keeping his fans entertained. Last week during a game against the Denver Nuggets, Bryant gave a fan sitting behind him signed shoes after the young boy was able to guess Bryant’s dog’s name.

“The deal was if they got it, I’d give them my shoes. And they got it,” he said. The dog’s name is Crucio, one of the three “Unforgivable Curses” in the “Harry Potter” series.
