Nike Declares Kobe Bryant’s Final Game To Be Mamba Day

The countdown to Kobe Bryant’s final NBA game is underway, and with four games left in his pro career, Nike has declared his final appearance on the court – April 13 – as Mamba Day.

For his final game, a home matchup against the Utah Jazz at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Nike confirmed Bryant would wear a black-and-gold iteration of his latest signature shoe, the Kobe 11.

According to Nike, starting today, some of the brand’s sponsored athletes around the world will wear black and gold shoes as a nod to Bryant and his legendary career that’s coming to an end. Nike confirmed that more than 200 athletes would be sporting black and gold for the basketball superstar. The Nike athletes paying tribute to Bryant include golf pro Rory McIlroy, baseball star Mike Trout and soccer standout Carli Lloyd.
