Of the three NFL teams hoping to move to Los Angeles in 2016, the one guaranteed to go there already has a long history with the city. Before playing in St. Louis, the Rams were Los Angeles’ team from 1946 to 1994.
The Rams saw success while on the West Coast, winning a title in 1951 — before the championship game was called the Super Bowl. The Rams teams in Los Angeles also had their share of stars, from offensive standouts like running back Eric Dickerson to tough defensive linemen, including Jack Youngblood in the 1970s and ’80s, and the renowned “Fearsome Foursome” of the late 1960s: Rosey Grier, Merlin Olsen, Deacon Jones and Lamar Lundy.
Just as rich as the team’s history in the city is its cleat history, with its players donning the best of their era on the field.

Rams defenses dominated for most of the team’s time in Los Angeles. Youngblood stalked opposing offenses on the gridiron in Adidas, while Jones punished opponents in Spot Bilt.
On offense, Dickerson played for the team from 1983-87 and set the all-time regular season rushing record in 1984, running for 2,105 yards. The Hall of Famer – who quickly welcomed the Rams back to Los Angeles on Twitter – hit the field in Adidas.
Other offensive standouts to put on the blue and gold in Los Angeles include quarterback Jim Everett and receiver Henry Ellard, who played for the team from the late 1980s into the early 1990s. Everett and Ellard took to the field wearing Nike during their tenures with the team. Flipper Anderson, who set the record for most receiving yards in a single game while playing for Los Angeles, also sported the swoosh.
