The NBA Draft Lottery is one of the most exciting moments for NBA franchises looking to rebuild or add a young star in the making to bolster their rosters. Tonight, three of the most celebrated and accomplished teams in league history have the chance to land two of the most coveted college players in recent history — Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram.
After finishing the season with a league-worst 10-72 record, the Philadelphia 76ers have the greatest odds to land the No. 1 pick in the draft. The Los Angeles Lakers wrapped last season with the second-worst record, 17-65, and have the second-best chance of receiving the first overall pick. The Boston Celtics — receiving the Brooklyn Nets’ pick via a 2013 trade — have the third-best chance.

Simmons, a 6-foot-10 forward from Louisiana State University, has been almost universally projected by analysts and fans alike to be the first overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft. The Australian baller laced up various iterations of the Nike LeBron 13 for the Tigers in his one and only season with the team.

But Simmons isn’t the only name tied to that No. 1 slot. Ingram, a 6-foot-9 guard from Duke, also has a shot at being taken first overall. The Blue Devil wore different colorways of the Nike KD8 last season.
While Simmons and Ingram are widely viewed as locks for the top two picks in the draft, the rest of the lottery is up in the air. From the third pick on, players including Croatian baller Dragan Bender, Buddy Hield from Oklahoma University, Jaylen Brown from the University of California, Berkeley and Jamal Murray from the University of Kentucky have all been mentioned as the best draft options.
The 2016 NBA Draft Lottery will air live on ESPN tonight at 8 p.m. EDT. The 2016 NBA Draft will take place June 23.
