New Balance unveiled its new 009 silhouette Thursday night at the Soho House in New York City, but for those who don’t live in the Big Apple, the brand is bringing its latest sneaker on a worldwide tour.
The brand is also set to make stops in Berlin, Seoul and Los Angeles to show off the 009, a shoe that takes elements from its classic 900 series — specifically the 998 and 999 models — and pairs them with the latest New Balance technologies, innovations and materials.
The 009 — a shoe with a technical sole and a lifestyle upper — features a dual density midsole, neoprene foam around the collar that is contoured based on ankle anatomy, speckled suede on the upper, and a reground outsole (gum rubber mixed with recycled rubber).
The shoe arrives in stores on July 1 in three colorways (beige, burgundy and gray) and retails for $110. The brand confirmed that the 009 would initially be sold at its pinnacle retail partners, including Kith and Concepts.

The tour is in conjunction with art collective Neighborhood Watch, and was created to not only show off the shoe but also highlight street and music culture in each region. It will also feature virtual reality videos with Susy Oludele, Bengfang, Ev Bravado and Vell Beck — who are all wearing the 009 — showing them engaging in their various art practices throughout the day.
