Patriotic Nike Air Foamposite One Arrives July 26

Nike once again is feeling the Olympic spirit with its upcoming Air Foamposite One release.

The Nike Air Foamposite One “Liquid Sole” — also referred to as “Obsidian/University Red” — arrives Tuesday and will retail for $250. The shoe will also be available in grade school, preschool, toddler and infant sizing for $180, $100, $75 and $50, respectively. The shoe will be available in men’s sizing via SNKRS, with kids’ sizing sold on nike.com.

The shoe was first released in 1997, and since its inaugural release has hit retail shelves in a number of colorways — but never in red, white, and blue, according to Nike.

The “Liquid Sole” iteration boasts a white Foamposite upper with obsidian on the tongue and above the Foamposite paneling, and university red adorning its collar. The shoe features an icy translucent outsole witting below a black and gray carbon fiber shank. It also boasts metallic gold detailing on the forefoot Swoosh branding and Air Penny branding on the tongue and heel.

The Air Foamposite One was arguably the most popular shoe worn on the court by NBA great Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, who debuted the “Royal” colorway during his time with the Orlando Magic.
