Nike‘s latest limited-edition sneaker celebrates Latino Heritage Month.
Taking inspiration from Mexican folk art, the kicks feature a colorful pattern on the Swoosh logo and insoles. The Nike LHM Cortez dropped Friday and is available online for $89.99.
Other design details include a black nylon and nubuck upper, a translucent green sole, as well as “L.H.M.” and “Cortez ‘72” branding.
The Cortez sneaker debuted in 1972 and became a must-have shoe for athletes competing at the 1972 Olympic Games. At the time, it was one of the most popular running shoes on the market because of its unprecedented cushioning and lightweight construction.

The LHM iteration marks the first time Nike has dedicated a shoe for Latino Heritage Month, which runs Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 and recognizes contributions of Latino Americans.
Shoe Palace hosted a kickoff event at its Los Angeles flagship on Melrose Avenue a day ahead of the launch and feted acclaimed photographer Estevan Oriol, whose iconic photography of Mexican-Americans, Los Angeles and celebrities was on display.
