Akron, Ohio’s own LeBron James delivered on his promise in July 2014 to bring a NBA title home when he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers after a four-season run with the Miami Heat. To celebrate, Nike released a video congratulating King James, the Cavaliers and the city of Cleveland.
The video — titled “Worth the Wait” — hit YouTube shortly after Cleveland’s win Sunday over the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. The one-minute clip shows fans of the Cavaliers in their homes and places of work watching the team celebrate on the court after winning the first NBA title in franchise history.

James — the 2016 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player — led the Cavaliers to not only the first championship in the team’s history, he ended a 52-year major sports championship drought in Cleveland. The team is also the first in league history to win a title after being down 3-1 in a series.
Nike’s two sponsored athletes on the Cavaliers with signature shoes — James and guard Kyrie Irving — led the team in scoring, dropping 27 and 26 points, respectively. James was 9-of-24 from the field, dishing out 11 assists and grabbing 11 rebounds. Irving hit 10-of-23 shots, including going 2-of-5 from long range.
Nike is releasing the Zoom LeBron Soldier 10 on Tuesday via NIKEiD — which he debuted during Game 4 of the series — featuring a flexible stretch-lined upper, responsive Zoom Air cushioning, and straps on the forefoot, midfoot and ankle.
