Nike LunarEpic Flyknit Running Shoe Arrives Today

Nike has used its Flyknit technology as of late to advance sneakers in many categories, most recently in skate with the Koston 3. The advancements continue with its latest running release, arriving in stores today.

The Nike LunarEpic Flyknit, in stores now, is available in men’s and women’s sizes, retailing for $175.

The shoe, according to the brand, was conceptualized more than 18 months ago and took insight from the brand’s Magista soccer silhouette. The Magista, according to Nike, was designed to make the foot, ankle and lower leg work together as a single unit to emphasize natural movement and a feeling of fluidity.

The shoe features a lightweight, breathable one-piece Flyknit upper with different densities of knit for support, a mid-height collar for lockdown, and Flywire cables for strength and a dynamic fit.

The midsole uses a new dual-injection technology, using heat instead of glue to fuse two foams into one piece. The shoe uses Lunarlon foam with an IU foam carrier and soft IP core. It also features a rubber-free outsole made with Lunarlon foam that boasts laser-siped geometric pistons that move individually that are inspired by pressure maps of the foot.
