Top Spring ’17 Trail, Lifestyle & Hiking Looks From Outdoor Retailer

Spring ’17 is looking good for brands participating in the outdoor space. Silhouettes including trail runners, lifestyle boots and light hikers dominated what labels presented this week at the 2016 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City. Check out some of the top looks from the expo.

Hoka One One Arahi

A number of updates to the brand’s renowned franchises dominate spring ’17, but Hoka has a new road shoe sure to turn heads. Pictured above is the Arahi stability shoe, which boasts an early stage metarocker and weighs in at 9.3 ounces. It also is the first shoe to feature the brand’s new J Frame construction. The shoe will retail for $130.

Brooks Transcend 4

The running brand will offer updates to many of its acclaimed performance shoes for spring ’17, and the one that’s generating the most excitement is the Transcend 4. The shoe features the brand’s 3D Fit technology on the upper, the first time the innovation has appeared in the Transcend franchise. The shoe will also boast a $10 reduced price point than past iterations, coming in at $160.

Keen Terradora

Terradora is what Keen believes will be its next big footwear franchise. It will make its debut in spring ’17, launching in both mid and low cuts, with waterproof and non-waterproof options. The boots in the line are built on a women’s-specific last, and feature a slope in collar for women’s-specific achilles, a foodbed and midsole that caters to a higher arch, and a dual density midsole. To pick up a pair, head to REI on Dec. 15 — the launch is exclusive to all of the retailer’s doors.

Altra Escalante and King MT

Two new silhouettes will debut in spring ’17 for Altra — one for the road and another for the trail. The Escalante, a road shoe that will retail for $130, features a stretch knit upper and the brand’s new Altra Ego cushioning compoundFor the trail, Altra will deliver the King MT, which will retail for $140. The shoe is built for soft ground and is ideal for terrain that is inundated with mud and wet grass. The King MT also features Altra Ego cushioning.

Sperry 7 Seas Collection

Making its debut in spring ’17 is the label’s 7 Seas collection, led by the 3-Eye silhouette. According to the brand, the line follows its “Born from the sea, built for the world” mantra, and is inspired by its Americas Cup product. The collection will come in men’s and women’s sizing, with the 3-Eye retailing for $90.

New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v7

The Boston-based brand has a plethora of releases slated for a spring ’17 release, including the Fresh Foam 1080v7, which will retail for $150. The shoe boasts a double jacquard engineered mesh upper, bootie construction and an 8 mm offset.

Timberland Coltin Collection

The iconic brand has a slew of lifestyle offerings for the season, led by its Coltin collection. The line boasts three shoes — a slip-on, low cut and a mid — retailing for $120, $125 and $135, respectively. The Coltin collection features Timberland’s latest technology story, the Sensorflex comfort system, which provides shoes with cushioning, support and stability.

The North Face Endurus TR

A new plush trail runner will hit stores in spring ’17, courtesy of The North Face. The Endurus TR, which will retail for $130, features the brand’s proprietary Xtra Foam, as well as an ESS snake plate and a Vibram XS Trek outsole.
