Watch Adidas’ New Film Starring Soccer Star Paul Pogba

Adidas welcomed soccer standout Paul Pogba to its roster of sponsored athletes in March, and since then has featured him in its star-studded “Sport Needs Creators” short film. Now, the athletic brand has another TV and digital spot featuring its Manchester United leader that’s dubbed “Football Needs Creators.”

The video, according to Adidas, is a trip along Pogba’s journey from early stages of his career, when he began to shape his soccer identity at age 6 playing for US Roissey-en-Brie, to where he sits today atop the sport, enticing the Manchester fans at the team’s Old Trafford home. The clip features a voice-over from his mother, who talks about her son’s creativity, and was made to encourage players globally to harness their creativity and perform in and unique ways.

“Creativity has always been the difference maker for Paul Pogba in all facets of his life, on and off the pitch,” Ryan Morlan, VP of brand communications for Adidas, said in a statement. “Since childhood, his imagination has been the catalyst to defying the norm in the world of football. Pogba’s story mirrors our belief that creativity will take you further than your mind or body alone. There is only one Pogba, but all athletes can look to him for inspiration to use one’s own creativity to make new rules in their sport.”

Adidas’ launch of the video today coincides with Pogba and Manchester United taking on Liverpool. Game time is set for 3 p.m. ET.
