SNL’s Pete Davidson Joins Converse for Hilarious Holiday Video Campaign

With retailers and brands upping holiday marketing content quality through witty star-studded ads, it’s hard to stand out from the competition. But Converse has teamed up with a comedian who is sure to give it more exposure through the season.

Converse announced today that stand-up comedian and “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson will headline its “Give Converse” holiday campaign.

According to Converse, the “Give Converse” web video series will feature Davidson shining a light on the some of his worst holiday gifting fails and lamenting some holiday gifts he’s received. He’ll then suggest Converse gifts that could have — and probably should have — been given instead.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with comedian Pete Davidson to help bring to life one of the most uncomfortable parts of holiday gifting,” Julien Cahn, CMO of Converse, said in a statement. “The goal of the campaign is to showcase the worst part of holiday gifting in a humorous and satirical manner that all consumers can relate to, and ultimately highlight Converse as the gift that can’t go wrong.”

For the initiative, Converse and Davidson will destroy gift-giving fails via 10 videos that will be seen throughout the season that will appear on the brand’s social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram.
