Adidas Golf Unveils Gilded Big Check Edition Cleats

Adidas has golfers going for the green.

With the FedEx Cup underway, the best players are aiming for low scores on the course. But they’re also swinging for an extra incentive: a $10 million check for the season’s PGA Tour champion.

The German athletic firm will also celebrate the financial bonus by introducing golf shoes that “look like a million bucks,” according to a company statement released Thursday night.

The spikes, called the Big Check Edition, offer a “gilded twist” on the Adicross Gripmore 2.

The cleats feature a microfiber leather upper with proprietary Climaproof technology for more durability and protection. In addition, the styles boast more than 240 points of ground contact.

The cleats, priced at $150, are being sold at Adidasgolf.com.

Meanwhile, the month-long journey for the professionals on tour starts with a 125-player field but will be down to 30 by the end of September.
