Irony was in full swing at the final U.S. Open golf championship.
After Stephen Curry‘s Under Armour Two Low “Chef” sneakers were mercilessly mocked on social media when the line made its debut recently, fellow brand ambassador Jordan Spieth delivered his own endorsement with a wink and nod at social media trolls on Sunday, Father’s Day.

“Michael and I bringing the @stephencurry30 ‘straight (fire)’ to the course,” he tweeted ahead of his arrival, sharing a picture of the kicks in his hands alongside his caddie Michael Greller.
When the Golden State Warriors MVP’s sneakers were released, Twitter was set ablaze with memes that skewered the footwear for being dull and “dad”-like.
Clearly, the humor was not lost on Spieth.

After the torrent of comment on the all-white sneakers, which retail for $120, Curry was asked about the Internet backlash following the Warriors’ Game 4 win over the Cavaliers.
“If I had them in the road bag, I definitely would have worn them,” Curry said. “To show how fire they are.”
