Russell Westbrook Wins NBA All-Star MVP In Air Jordan XXX

Defense, as it is during every NBA All-Star Game, was optional, as the West All-Stars topped the East squad, 196-173. For the second year in a row, Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder was named the game’s MVP.

Westbrook – wearing an intergalactic pair of the Air Jordan XXX – dropped 31 points and added eight rebounds and five assists in 22 minutes of play. The back-to-back All-Star MVP-winning guard wasn’t the only player for the West in the latest Michael Jordan signature shoe, as Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs also wore the silhouette, in a more subdued white and black colorway.

Although Westbrook received the MVP honors, the night belonged to Los Angeles Lakers veteran Kobe Bryant, who played in his final All-Star Game of his career. Bryant scored 10 points in his 18th All-Star Game in the All-Star edition of his Nike Kobe 11 signature shoe.

Even though Westbrook scored a team-high 31 points in the win, he wasn’t the game’s highest scorer. Paul George of the Indiana Pacers dropped 41 points in the loss, just one point short of Wilt Chamberlain’s All-Star Game record of 42 points. George hit the court in the All-Star colorway of the Nike Hyperlive.

Stephen Curry, who hit the court in the Under Armour Curry Two “All Star,” was the West’s second leading scorer with 26 points. The Golden State Warriors guard nailed one of the more electrifying shots of the night, a three-pointer from nearly half court with time winding down in the game and his team approaching the 200 point mark.
