Serena Williams’ U.S. Open Shoe Style Through The Years

Serena Williams is not an average tennis player, so naturally she has a better-than-average wardrobe to match.

In fact, the No. 1-ranked Williams is a fashion lover and even has her own exclusive line with the Home Shopping Network. Williams has never been one to shy away from bold on-court styles, opting for bright colors and patterns over the years.

Prior to signing a deal with Nike in 2004, Williams wore Puma apparel and shoes.

With Nike, Williams never has never shied away from unique looks. In 2004, she surprised spectators with her custom knee-high black tennis shoes.

While we haven’t seen her in as dramatic a shoe since, she still leads the pack when it comes to on-court style. Like Roger Federer, Nike places symbols on Williams’ shoes to represent the titles she’s won. In 2009, her U.S. Open sneakers had three hearts on the heel as a nod to the three U.S. Open titles she’d won by that time.
