Williams Sisters Advance To Wimbledon Semifinals In Nike

Will it be an all-Williams women’s final at Wimbledon this year? Serena Williams and Venus William both advanced to the semifinals of the Grand Slam tournament in London on Tuesday. If they both win their next matches, the two will meet in the championship on Saturday.

Venus Williams, wearing the NikeCourt Zoom Vapor, defeated Yaroslava Shvedova in straight sets. Serena Williams sported NikeCourt Flare sneakers for her match against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. The younger Williams also won in two sets.

Last year, the Williams sisters also went head to head, and in a decisive match that lasted just one hour and eight seconds, the younger sibling won out. No. 1-ranked Serena Williams defeated Venus Williams 6-4, 6-3.

This year’s Wimbledon marks a particularly significant moment for both sisters. After a stellar 2015, Serena Williams hasn’t won any majors this year. And at 36, Venus, the older sister, has been making a major comeback.

Speaking of comebacks, Roger Federer, another Nike star, is marching on in the tournament as well. He will play Wednesday for a spot in the men’s semifinal, while Under Armour’s Andy Murray also continues his winning streak. In Wimbledon’s biggest shock so far, Novak Djokovic, the No. 1-ranked player, lost over the weekend to U.S. rising star Sam Querrey.
