Amid the current “Banned” Air Jordan colorway craze, Dominic “The Shoe Surgeon” Chambrone released his take on the iconic shoe on Thursday for six lucky sneaker fans to pick up. Today, the renowned sneaker customizer showed off his latest extremely limited take on the iconic Air Jordan 1.
Chambrone’s latest creation is a pair of the Air Jordan 1 that is without one of the original’s defining characteristics — the Nike Swoosh branding. The sneaker-making expert removed the Swoosh on the silhouette, which is made of premium materials such as premium buffalo leather and Japanese cow leather. The shoe also features The Shoe Surgeon branding on the tongue in gold.
Photographer Jennifer Ro captured shots of Chambrone at work, hand-stitching the shoes and crafting his vision of a classic Michael Jordan signature shoe.
The Shoe Surgeon’s first premium “Banned” Air Jordan 1 release became available on Thursday, made with python and Horween nubuck. The shoes were priced at $1,200, and were sold with a custom box and special-edition dust bag.
If you’re looking to pick up a pair, unfortunately, you can’t — these are a one-of-one for Chambrone to wear himself.
