Soles4Souls To Unveil Pair Of Sneakers Worth $4 Million

Soles4Souls is upping the sneaker game in a major way. The organization has teamed up with luxury lifestyle brand Bicion and sneaker customizer Dan Gamache of Mache Custom Kicks to create a pair of sneakers worth $4 million. The sale of the sneaker will raise money for Soles4Souls, which aims to fight poverty by collecting and distributing shoes and clothing.

The sneakers, called “The Fire Monkey,” take inspiration from the Chinese New Year — this year is the Year of the Monkey, which began Feb. 8. The silhouette is a Li Ning Way of Wade style that features several hundred carats of specially made white diamonds and blue sapphires set in 18k gold created by Bicion’s jewelry engineers. The blue, white and gold sneakers have a flower pattern on the upper as well as a solid gold hang tag.

“This project was a great opportunity to demonstrate how pop culture and the jewelry industry can collide to produce a work of art that will benefit under privileged children globally,” said Gurps Rai, one of Bicion’s founders.

Dan Gamache of Mache Custom Kicks said this project was one that was really special.

“To have the opportunity to design and create the most expensive sneaker in the world is a humbling opportunity,” he said. “But to know that this sneakers will help put shoes on children’s feet across the globe is an amazing feeling. It makes my work and everything I have ever done worth it.”

The sneaker will be officially unveiled at a press event in New York on Tuesday.
