Although the Deflategate scandal first made headlines immediately after the 2015 AFC Championship Game, the NFL is still pursuing a penalty against superstar quarterback Tom Brady. Today, the league got exactly what it wanted.
According to multiple reports, the U.S. Court of Appeals made a decision this morning to reinstate the Under Armour and Ugg-sponsored quarterback’s four-game suspension because of his connection to deflated footballs used in the aforementioned game.
The U.S. Court of Appeals released a 33-page report detailing its decision.
“We hold that the Commissioner properly exercised his broad discretion under the collective bargaining agreement and that his procedural rulings were properly grounded in that agreement and did not deprive Brady of fundamental fairness. Accordingly, we reverse the judgment of the district court and remand with instructions to confirm the award,” the report stated.

In September, U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman lifted the NFL’s four-game suspension on Brady, allowing him to play throughout the 2015 season, which led to the NFL’s appeal that turned in its favor today.
Prior to the suspension being overturned, Ugg spoke with Footwear News about its unwavering support for Brady.
“Tom Brady is an incredible athlete and brand ambassador,” said Angel Martinez, Ugg chairman and CEO in an August email. “Our support remains unchanged.”
