Tomas Berdych Wears Adidas For The First Time At Qatar ExxonMobil Open

On Wednesday, Czech tennis player Tomas Berdych announced on Twitter that he would be partnering with Adidas. Adidas made the official announcement today, just as Berdych is hitting the court for the first time wearing the athletic brand at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open.

The No.6-ranked player has signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Adidas and will wear the brand head-to-toe.

“I’ve always been a fan of Adidas and admire their dedication to tennis,” he said. “I’m very excited to now be part of one of the most iconic brands in sports history and look forward to putting in a performance worthy of the three stripes.”

Other Adidas tennis athletes include Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Caroline Wozniacki, Ana Ivanovic and Novak Djokovic, who wears Adidas footwear only.

“We have followed Tomas’ rise to ATP stardom for many years and are very pleased to welcome him to the Adidas tennis family,” said Andrea Swick, head of tennis for Adidas global sports marketing. “His fluid, powerful game and athletic on-court movement makes him the ideal player to push our barricade products to new heights.”

Berdych was previously sponsored by H&M for apparel.

Berdych plays in the quarterfinals at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open today starting at 1:30 p.m. EST.
