Wale Reveals New Asics x Villa Sneakers Exclusively For FN [PHOTOS]

Wale has a new sneaker collaboration on the way with Asics, sold exclusively though Villa, and he showed it off late Wednesday on social media.

During an exclusive Footwear News photo shoot throughout New York City on Wednesday, the rap superstar broke out his gold, teal and black Asics Gel Lyte III sneaker. It arrives in Villa stores in July — a month before he drops his next album, “SHiNE,” which features his latest single, “My PYT.” During the shoot at the FN offices, the rapper took the photo that now appears on his Instagram account. Wale also shared an image of the shoes via his personal Snapchat account.

“They’re a comfortable brand to work with. A lot of brands wouldn’t make something this bold,” Wale said of Asics during an interview with Footwear News.

This isn’t the first time Wale teamed up with Asics and Villa for a sneaker collaboration. Last June, the three teamed up for the “Bottle Rocket” Gel Lyte III, a shoe with a patriotic feel for Independence Day, boasting a red, white, blue and black color palette. Wale and Villa also teamed up with Timberland for the “Gift Box” six-inch boot that dropped in November.
