“Orange Is The New Black” star Dascha Polanco is fan of fashion. Being on one of TV’s hottest shows gives Polanco the chance to hit red carpet after red carpet in her favorite designers and go-to shoes.
The actress was on hand for the NFL & CFDA event to fulfill her duties as an NFL ambassador this week, where she talked to Footwear News about season four of “OITNB.”
“It’s the usual dynamic and DNA,” she said. “But there’s new blood and new inmates coming in, so we will see how they shake up the prison.” Last season, Ruby Rose was the newest inmate to make waves in Litchfield, so we are curious to see who will be the next hell-raiser when Season 4 premieres on Netflix on June 17.

“Orange” costume designer Jenn Rogien talked to FN before Season 3 aired to talk footwear. “There is a pair of standard-issue boots we purchased from a prison supplier. The actors are very divided: Some of them love the boots’ clunky and powerful feel and others hate them for the same reason. It’s funny to see the range of reactions because it’s a real prison boot,” she said.
Off-screen, Polanco is fan of sneakers, including Air Jordans, Nike Air Force Ones and Huaraches. She’ll be gracing the red carpet at the upcoming SAG Awards, and she often chooses Prada, Jimmy Choo and Balenciaga shoes, she said, adding, “Ferragamo is my ultimate favorite.” Polanco looks for Salvatore Ferragamo retailers when she travels.
