Just in time for summer’s official kickoff this week, Brazilian brand Mini Melissa has unveiled a new jelly sandal style for girls, the Aranha VIII.
Decorated with a playful, melted-popsicle ornament on the toe, the buckled T-strap style perfectly captures the spirit of lazy, hot summer days. Girls can choose from four different colorways: yellow and pink; blue and pink; nude and lilac; and pink and green. Both baby and toddler sizes are available. Like all of Mini Melissa’s shoes, the sandal, made of lightweight PVC, gives off a subtle, fruity scent with every step.
Priced at around $58, the Aranha VIII can be purchased at Galeria Melissa stores worldwide, online at Shopmelissa.com, as well as from Zappos, Amazon, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Helmed by creative director Edson Matsuo, Mini Melissa continues to make a big splash in the children’s market with its fun, whimsical approach to footwear. Other styles in the summer collection feature decorative ornaments such as pineapples, bananas, oversized bows and animal faces.

In the spring, Mini Melissa charmed kids with an adorable, pull-on ankle boot featuring an inflatable monkey head on the front. The style was part of the brand’s latest collaboration with Los Angeles-based fashion designer Jeremy Scott.
